rosehip tea & company drifted into consciousness in august 2020. it had been brewing for quite some time, as she wanted to create a place of inclusivity where marginalized voices could speak out on issues near and dear to their hearts, including the queer community, femininity, self-improvement, environment, and literature.
although rosehip tea & company‘s name was originally inspired by eleanor roosevelt’s quote about womxn (“A wom[xn] is like a tea bag – you never know strong [they are] until [they] get in hot water”) and its name is reminiscent of womxnhood itself (rose hips), as it particularly pledges itself to amplifying female womxn of color and their struggles, this magazine also wishes to honor the voices of other marginalized communities.
